misc · Meeting of March 9, 2026

NY JAY — Jay Parks Committee advances dog park planning at Grove Road site. The Parks & Open Space Committee completed a site visit to 23 Grove Road and identified key considerations for the dog park project, including fire department access and accessible trail design. Two fiscal sponsorship options, the Lake Placid Rotary Foundation and the Tahawus Cultural Center's Appleby Foundation, are being evaluated, with committee member Sarah Duhaime scheduled to meet with Lake Placid Rotary in February 2026.

The dog park naming campaign conducted in November 2025 generated 40 community name suggestions, which the committee will review before finalizing site and design decisions.
