NY JAY — The Parks and Open Space Committee received updates on park maintenance projects and heard about future work. Brooke Paries reported new garbage cans distributed across town parks and renovations at The Grove. Sarah Duheme and Larry Hartson presented a draft site plan for the Kendall Harston LeMay Dog Park that received positive feedback; path construction will require removing eight trees and board approval.
The organizers have raised more than $10,000 in donations and in-kind contributions targeting a summer or fall 2027 groundbreaking. The committee also heard updates on the town's comprehensive plan and the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities initiative planning community workshops for late September.
